Welcome-to-Food-Bloggers-Central

Food Bloggers Central is the place I wanted to find when I started my blog.

A place to seek help and get tips. A place to find information for how to grow and monetise your blog. Somewhere to meet other bloggers, connect, participate in fun activities and get support.

FOR FREE

Nagi from RecipeTin EatsHi, I’m Nagi from RecipeTin Eats. If you’re so inclined, you can read more about me here!

Food Bloggers Central started out as an innocent group of 5 friends who created a Facebook group to “chat” about blogging. It unexpectedly blossomed into something so much more and now the group has hundreds of food bloggers from all around the world. As the Facebook group grew and more and more information was shared, I realised that between myself and other members within the community, there was a powerhouse of knowledge and advice to be shared.

Tips for how to reach new audience and reduce bounce rate. The latest recipe sharing sites that actually do reach new audience. How to maximise the amount of money you earn from your blog. Which ad networks are best. How to approach prospective clients. How to “sell” yourself.

How to improve your food photography.

With a lot of hard work and a little bit of luck, I grew my blog, RecipeTin Eats, from zero to 1 million monthly views in 8 months.

And this is where I share all my tips and “how to”.

What you’ll find on Food Bloggers Central

** Please note: As FBC is currently being put together by me – Nagi – singlehandedly, it is going to take me time to build each of the sections outlined below! **

How to start a food blog
– from the basics, including how to set up a food blog, and answering all those Frequently Asked Questions that flood your mind when you’re just starting out. “How many times should I post?” “What should I post?” “How do I get people to discover my blog?”

How to set up a food blog – plug ins, how to configure menus, key considerations for layout. Everything you see on my blog, RecipeTin Eats, I will show you how to set up (and other things I don’t have on my blog that are popular amongst food bloggers).

How to grow your blog – once you’ve started out, the biggest question that everyone has is “how can I grow my blog?” It’s a huge topic. The recipes you share. Your blog layout. Tactics to capture “drive through” traffic. Mastering social media. Recipes going viral. Recipe sharing sites. All of this is covered on Food Bloggers Central.

Photography – in this day and age where the blogging world is imploding, it is more important than ever for your recipes to stand out from the crowd. And there’s no denying that striking photography is a key part of this.

I picked up a DSLR for the first time in May 2014 when I first started my blog. Here’s where I was in 3 months time.

3-months-before-after

I’ve continued to invest a great deal of my time and energy into improving my photography, mainly through practice because I haven’t been able to find the right resource to aide me for the stage I am at. 8 months after starting out, I’m taking photos like this.

And like this:

I’m not trying to show off (I swear!). I’m just trying to demonstrate how far I’ve come. Here on FBC, I’ll regularly share tips for how to improve your food photography because I strongly believe it was a key reason why I’ve been able to grow my blog at the rate I did.

Ask for help – the thing I love the most about the FBC Facebook Group is that members are so willing to help and support one another. Post a technical question you’ve been grappling with, ask for advice, get ideas, make call outs for recipe round ups you want to do. It’s an open forum and we’re blessed to have so many members that are so open to giving advice and providing support.

There are 7 billion people in this world. And there are millions that love the food YOU love.

Food Bloggers Central is here to help them find you.

Hi Nagi! I found this site through your recipe blog RecipeTinEats- it started with me making your parmesan shortbread and since then I’ve been back to your site obsessively. I actually blog generally about creative living but having realised I spend almost every evening on recipes, am planning to start a dedicated food blog this week! Like you, I want to make it a dedicated full time job – in between jobs at the moment- so fingers crossed and here’s to hard work! 😉

    Hi Nagi,

I was introduced to your sight by the two hungry guys, Luke and Joe. I am literally starting up my blog/site at the moment. It was all very daunting until I started reading FBC. This information is usually information you need to pay for and I am so grateful that you have shared so much information.
I have a lot a work ahead of me, but really excited and will continue following your blog and FBC. Waiting to see this mystery start up blogger you have helped too. No doubt there will be more endless information for me to learn from.

    Thankyou.

Thank goodness I found you. I have been blogging for 4 months and I LOVE it but jeepers it can be overwhelming. Thank you for creating this blog. It is beautiful.

Hi Nagi, I’m trying to build my viewing on my site and have read everywhere that building a mailing list is most important. Would you be able to help me on creating that for my blog? Thank you so much, Ellie.

I just found this website through thespicetrain.com. I am so glad to have been led here. What a great resource! I am a new food blogger. I put up my first recipe in May 2015 and then my blog sat dormant until August when I started posting to it regularly. I feel that I have so much to learn and it’s all overwhelming at times. I am blessed to be able to pursue this full-time because I am at home caring for my mother who has Alzheimer’s disease. I intend for my blog to grow to a full-time business because I have no source of income working from home.

I submitted a request to join the Facebook group today. Looking forward to making new friends and learning from you.

    Hi Nagi,
I want you to know that you have inspired me. I read your story and immediately purchased your food photography ebook. I love it and I am working my way through it. It’s a wonderful resource. I purchased my domain name two days ago, after 2 years of dreaming about taking that step. Now I am setting up the site, learning as I go. I sent a request to join the FB group and I hope you will accept it. I am so eager to learn from you and the group. How exciting to see so many others pursuing their passion. Thanks for this wonderful resource you have created.

Hi Donna! I’m so touched that I’ve been able to inspire you 🙂 If you don’t get into the FB group, it’s only because the joining process is a bit clunky (to keep out SPAM!) so if you don’t get in today, email me directly! 🙂

I’m so excited that you have got your new domain name – yay!! Here’s to blogging! Keep an eye out, in the next few weeks FBC is going to get LOADED up with so much more useful information about starting and running a blog! N x

    Hi Nagi

I’ve submitted the form, and sent a join request for FBC.

My blog is currently being in the process of being directed to my new domains so the links have quite resolved!

Hope you’ll let me in anyway

    Cheers
    Ange

    • Nagi says

Mira, honestly can’t tell you how happy I am that we met. You are one of the first real blogger friends I made and am so happy we are buddies!! 🙂 Thanks for everything, truly. I know we don’t email and chat all the time because we both get buried, but you know I’m always here for you! 🙂

    • Nagi says

Thanks Amanda!! Honestly though, you guys are what makes FBC such a great place to be. Sharing knowledge, being supportive and HAVING FUN too!! 🙂 And I really appreciate your contribution to FBC – I know running the new member acceptance is an admin nightmare! YOU ROCK! 🙂
