Food Bloggers Central is the place I wanted to find when I started my blog.
A place to seek help and get tips. A place to find information for how to grow and monetise your blog. Somewhere to meet other bloggers, connect, participate in fun activities and get support.
Food Bloggers Central started out as an innocent group of 5 friends who created a Facebook group to “chat” about blogging. It unexpectedly blossomed into something so much more and now the group has hundreds of food bloggers from all around the world. As the Facebook group grew and more and more information was shared, I realised that between myself and other members within the community, there was a powerhouse of knowledge and advice to be shared.
Tips for how to reach new audience and reduce bounce rate. The latest recipe sharing sites that actually do reach new audience. How to maximise the amount of money you earn from your blog. Which ad networks are best. How to approach prospective clients. How to “sell” yourself.
How to improve your food photography.
With a lot of hard work and a little bit of luck, I grew my blog, RecipeTin Eats, from zero to 1 million monthly views in 8 months.
And this is where I share all my tips and “how to”.
What you’ll find on Food Bloggers Central
** Please note: As FBC is currently being put together by me – Nagi – singlehandedly, it is going to take me time to build each of the sections outlined below! **
How to start a food blog – from the basics, including how to set up a food blog, and answering all those Frequently Asked Questions that flood your mind when you’re just starting out. “How many times should I post?” “What should I post?” “How do I get people to discover my blog?”
How to set up a food blog – plug ins, how to configure menus, key considerations for layout. Everything you see on my blog, RecipeTin Eats, I will show you how to set up (and other things I don’t have on my blog that are popular amongst food bloggers).
How to grow your blog – once you’ve started out, the biggest question that everyone has is “how can I grow my blog?” It’s a huge topic. The recipes you share. Your blog layout. Tactics to capture “drive through” traffic. Mastering social media. Recipes going viral. Recipe sharing sites. All of this is covered on Food Bloggers Central.
Photography – in this day and age where the blogging world is imploding, it is more important than ever for your recipes to stand out from the crowd. And there’s no denying that striking photography is a key part of this.
I picked up a DSLR for the first time in May 2014 when I first started my blog. Here’s where I was in 3 months time.
I’ve continued to invest a great deal of my time and energy into improving my photography, mainly through practice because I haven’t been able to find the right resource to aide me for the stage I am at. 8 months after starting out, I’m taking photos like this.
And like this:
I’m not trying to show off (I swear!). I’m just trying to demonstrate how far I’ve come. Here on FBC, I’ll regularly share tips for how to improve your food photography because I strongly believe it was a key reason why I’ve been able to grow my blog at the rate I did.
Ask for help – the thing I love the most about the FBC Facebook Group is that members are so willing to help and support one another. Post a technical question you’ve been grappling with, ask for advice, get ideas, make call outs for recipe round ups you want to do. It’s an open forum and we’re blessed to have so many members that are so open to giving advice and providing support.
There are 7 billion people in this world. And there are millions that love the food YOU love.
Food Bloggers Central is here to help them find you.
